Description
Offered for your consideration is this spectacular, and unusually glazed 1907 Rookwood Pottery Vase. This piece has a great post z-line style and displays a very cool mottled matte green and deep reddish-orange glaze combination. Reminds me of some of the Roseville early carnelian mottled yellow and green matte glazed. It’s a very attractive piece of pottery. This piece of 1907 Rookwood Pottery stands 7.75” tall and is 4.25” wide through the shoulder. I photographed it in low light to bring out the background incised design and with a flash to bring out the multi-hued glaze depth.
It is marked with the conjoined RP and Roman numerals for 1907 in addition to its shape number and “V” for vellum. There is an orange circle done by hand that might be a code for the glaze combination. Not entirely sure, but the mark looks deliberately done and it’s a pretty funky glaze so you be the judge…
In any event, this unusually cool piece is in mint condition, meaning no chips, cracks, hairlines and/or repairs. It’s a bit heavier than most pieces this size due to the applications of the thick outer glaze. Nevertheless, it’s wonderful and perfect in every way!
This 1907 Rookwood Pottery vase will be carefully wrapped, packaged and insured through the USPS Priority Mail Service. Since it’s a bit heavier than most, flat rate fee will be .
