The Rookwood Pottery was in Cincinnati OH 1880-1967. Ed Diers, a Cincinnati native, was one of their top decorators 1896-1931, & decorated a lot of pieces in their Vellum glazes. As markings on the bottom of this large vase show, this
Rookwood shape #1358 was done by Ed Diers in a Vellum glaze in 1908. The vase was hand-painted with daisies around all sides. The glaze color shades from a light gray at the top to a light green at the bottom.
The vase is 10-3/4 inches tall & 5-3/4 inches wide at its widest point at the base & 4 inches in diameter at the top rim.
There are no chips or hairlines or glaze pops. As with most of the Vellum glazes, there is consistent smooth glaze crazing throughout the piece. Ships UPS Ground.
