    Description

Rookwood Pottery Saucer with hand decorated crab and turtle on gradient decorated background with Standard Glaze. This saucer has the impressed Rookwood Pottery cipher mark with 6 flame marks for year date 1892 on bottom of saucer.  The shape designation is also impressed for '431' as well as artist initials 'SM' for Sadie Markland who was a decorator at Rookwood from 1892 until her death in 1899.
This saucer is 6 3/4" in diameter and 1" in height at the raised rim.   There are some sand or grit particles on the face of the saucer that reflect the light but are colored and overglazed and not white as shown in the reflections in the photos. There is a minor hairline crack on the raised rim as shown in the sixth photo that is sealed and without glaze misses.
This saucer will be double boxed for shipping and any overpayment of shipping charge will be refunded to the buyer. Signature will be required by USPS upon delivery of the package.
