    Description

Up for your consideration is a wonderful Rookwood glazed plaque with a cockatoo perched on a branch with tropical foliage in the background. The piece is further enhanced by a faux bamboo and faux rattan that looks to be original! There is light all over cracking and one small hairline crack along the cockatoo’s right shoulder (please see photo). It is also present on the reverse. The reverse of the plaque is marked with the Rookwood mark roman numerals for 1943 and a number 6844. This is a beautiful piece done in soft whites, creams, tans, and grays that prove to be a winning combination with its period frame!  The plaque is 7 X 9.75 inches unframed and 10.75 X 13 inches framed.
