Description
Dated 1902, this Iris glaze Rookwood vase stands 9.5" tall x 4" in diameter. Beautifully decorated with Nasturtium flowers, stems and buds on a background color of a very deep blue fading into a lighter blue and then a soft yellow. This early Rookwood vase is fully marked under base with the Rookwood impressed "RP", dated II, shape number 562, "w", and Miss Rose Fechheimer's cipher. Ms. Fechheimer was born in 1874 and worked for Rookwood Pottery for ten years from 1896 until 1906. Her work is most often found on Iris glaze pieces. This vase is in factory excellent condition, overall fine crazing, and no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. If you collect early Rookwood, Iris glazes, Ms. Fechheimer, Arts and Crafts, Newcomb, Weller, or any other pottery, this vase will not disappoint. If you have any questions, please contact us.
