    This is a beautiful Pre-Colombian Necklace.  The pendant is in the shape of a breast plate in Pre-Colombian days.  This pendant was only worn by people of high social status (e.g. priests, nobles and royalty) as a breast plate.  If persons under this status were allowed to wear gold it would be dictated by the type they could wear.
