    Description

This is a new, undisplayed, Flatwoods Monster gray resin figure.  The item is exclusive merchandise from the Flatwoods Monster Museum in Sutton, WV which is also home to the Braxton County Convention and Visitor's Bureau.  The figures were recently produced and are unavailable for purchase except at their location and they do not offer on line purchases. There have been two castings of this figure at the time of this listing.  The first run was twenty.  The second edition was fifteen.  As of now a total of 35 of these figures exist.  It is currently unknown when another batch will be made and how large or small the next run will be. The figure you are purchasing is from the original edition of twenty.  Edited 9.19.20. There has been another casting released since this listing was posted. The edition size is unknown.  However, in a post on social media by the Braxton CVB there was a photo with fourteen figures.
The figure stands approximately 4" tall and is cast resin. Due to the nature of this medium there may be slight imperfections.  The flaws that I can see, and have pictured, are very slight. When looking at the back of the figure you can see slight blue marks. I'm not sure what these are but were on the figure at the time of purchase.  On the top of the head is a slight imperfection best described as a wave (two minor dips side by side).  This can be seen best in the photo where the figure is facing right.  Also on the front top of the head, near the point, is a slight indent.  It is so slight that it really can't be seen too well in the image.   Finally, there's a slight imperfection on the back of the left arm at the elbow. I have done my best to show all these in the photos.
The Flatwoods Monster aka The Braxton County Monster, The Green Monster, and Braxxie (as affectionately coined by the CVB) is a popular character in West Virginia history.  On September 12th, 1952 this figure was spotted by a group of local youngsters.  The beast was later determined to be a spaceship which stood about ten feet tall, had a green body, a red "face", and a head shaped like the Ace of Spades.  Nearly fifty years later, investigators concluded that the light was a meteor and the creature was a barn owl perched in a tree, with shadows making it appear to be a large humanoid.
