Rookwood PotteryTaras
This is a beautiful Rookwood statue of Taras, Poseidon's son in Greek Mythology. When Taras was shipwrecked, Poseidon sent a dolphin to rescue him. He rode the dolphin across the sea from the promontory of Taenarum to the south of Italy.
The statue is in very good condition with no chip and no cracks. There is a firing flaw at the back tip of the lower tail fin, shown in the last picture.
This makes an excellent mantlepiece or centerpiece or a fabulous compliment to you other pottery and stoneware.
It is about 10 inchs tall and 6 inches wide
