    Description

Nice Pre-Colombian 24k Gold Plated Necklace.
This necklace represents a monkey.   Pre-Colombian culture believed in nature and animal deities.  This was because of the power of nature.  Animals could do things humans couldn't do (fly, see at night, etc...).  Monkeys could jump quickly and climb trees.  They could live in trees and on the ground.
Certain gold jewelry could only be worn by people of high social status (priests, nobilities, warriors, etc.).  Many would wear certain jewelry to represent a certain animal, they claimed they could shift change to, in order to obtain the animal's power.  This piece would represent an individual in a high social status.
